Johor

Johor is Malaysia's southern most state on mainland asia. State capital Johor Bahru is 336km from national capital Kuala Lumpur.

The Sultan Ibrahim Building

The building is the former state secretariat building of Johor with Malay and colonial archtectural. It was built in 1940 and was one of the tallest building in Johor before independance.



Headquarters of the Johor Military Force

Johor Military Force is the oldest active unit in Malaysia. The Johor state maintains its own military force.

Johor Old Chinese Temple

This is the first Chinese temple named after a state in Malaysia. It was built by the Chinese community about 140 years ago. The temple serves the Hokkien, Cantonese, Hainan, Teochew and Hakka communities.

The temple was said to be the only place of worhsip in Johor Bahru to survive the bombing during World War 2.

Sikh Gurdwara Sahib

This is the first Sikh temple in Johor. It was built in 1921 by the Sikh community.

This Hindu temple was built in 1911.
